 P.E.T. sources

Germanium/gallium 68 line sources are mainly used in nuclear medicine applications for two separate functions with respect to positron emission tomography equipment : calibration, and mapping of patient attenuation for attenuation correction purposes for gamma photons of 511 keV in a prior acquisition phase.

• A range of radionuclides, activities and dimensions are available :

Available active lengths : 25.4 mm - 838 mm
Available active diameters : 1.07 mm - 5.33 mm

• Sources can be specially designed and adapted to meet specific requirements (ADAC, GE Medical Systems, Siemens, Picker, SMV, Philips, etc.).

Sources are either approved as “special sources” under IAEA regulations, or as “sealed sources” in accordance with ISO 2919 classification.
