Gamma reference sources for dose calibrators

Gamma reference sources for dose calibrators are characterized in terms of activity. Their geometry and certified activity enable them to be used in testing the constancy of response of dose calibrators.
Using this type of reference source necessitates prior calibration of the ionization chamber with conventional standard solutions. The gamma reference sources can then be used for periodic testing of ionization chamber response.
