Regulation/Acquisition and possession of radioactive standards

CERCA LEA is licensed by the French Nuclear Safety Authorities to prepare, import, export, hold for distribution and sell radionuclides in sealed or unsealed sources.

 

 

A) You are member of the european community and :

Your order concerns sealed source(s) with an activity (kBq) superior to the thresholds below.

In this case, transfer between member States of sealed sources and other relevant sources must take place in accordance with EURATOM regulation No. 1493/93 dated June 8, 1993.

Users must ensure that they comply with the regulations set down by Health and Safety Authorities in their own countries before placing an order with LEA.

Users must send a copy of their EURATOM form approved by their nuclear authorities.

• How to use the Euratom form

Any end-user (member of the European Community) shall fill in the Euratom Form when ordering a sealed source which activity is higher than the maximum given previously in the EURATOM thresholds table.

Radioactive solutions do not require the Euratom form.

For the delivery of your order, please fax us a copy of the approved and signed ECC n° 1493/93 document (Euratom) which is also called “Shipment of sealed sources between the member states of the european community” (Standard document to be used pursuant to Council Regulation ECC n° 1493/93).

B) You are member of the european community and:

- Your order concerns radioactive standard solutions or

- The ordered radioactive sealed sources have an activity inferior to the EURATOM threshholds below.

In this case, you have just to fill in the Certificate of Licensing.

C) Other countries for any orders

Please fill in the “certificate of licensing” document form or send us a copy of your permission to detain and use radioactive material delivered by your nuclear authorities when ordering.

D) Return of sealed sources

CERCA LEA undertakes to take back the sealed sources manufactured by itself when no longer required.

Disposal costs are included in the selling price when it is stated in the quotation.

Shipping charges from the place of use to the storage facility are not included.

Prior to any return, please fill in the request for the taking back of old sources form with a copy of the calibration certificate and submit it to LEA for acceptance
